ABOUT BRALIRWA PLC

In 1957, Bralirwa was established in Rwanda with the construction of a brewery in Gisenyi. Two years later in 1959, Primus, our best selling beer brand was made available to our customers and has remained the most popular beer in Rwanda to date. Through the years, our beer portfolio has grown in tandem with the Rwandan society and currently includes Primus, Mützig, Mutzig Class, Legend, Amstel Malt, Turbo King and Heineken all proudly produced at the Gisenyi brewery. Since 1974, we are also producing and selling soft drink brands under a licensing agreement with The Coca-Cola Company. Our soft drink brands include Coca Cola, Fanta Orange, Fanta Citron, Fanta Fiesta, Sprite, Stoney, Krest Tonic and our own Vital’ O.

Our drink offerings have been and remain at the center of Rwanda’s social culture.

Since 1971, Bralirwa Plc is a subsidiary of the Heineken Group, which holds 75% of its shares. On 31st January 2010, we became a public limited company, having been the first to list on the Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE).

Bralirwa Plc is incorporated in the Republic of Rwanda under law no7/2009 of 27 April 2009 relating to companies and registered by the Office of the Registrar General under no 100004348.

CORE VALUES

BRALIRWA’s three core values of Respect, Enjoyment and Passion for Quality are derived from its parent company’s (Heineken N.V.) values. These values are based on the Company’s passion for quality beverages and its consistent respect for employees, business partners, customers, shareholders and all others who are connected to it. The values help to define the corporate culture and working methods within the organization.

As a subsidiary of Heineken N.V. and license holder of The Coca-Cola Company, BRALIRWA ensures that everything it does or produces is of the highest quality. BRALIRWA continually aims to obtain and maintain its internal and external quality standard (e.g. ISO). This is not only reflected in its products and brands, but also in other activities such as the social and employment policies. In BRALIRWA there is a belief that being a ‘quality’ employer and investing in employees creates benefit and value for the Company and its reputation as well as for all of the Company’s stakeholders.
BRALIRWA PLC participates in making life more enjoyable by producing high quality beers and sparkling beverages and marketing them responsibly through innovative sponsorships, advertisement and countrywide promotions. BRALIRWA Plc sponsorship portfolio, which spans sports, music and arts includes many positive events that contribute to the enjoyment of many. The enjoyment for life is also reflected in the working life and atmosphere within the Company.
